A Team Meeting Followed by Pasta Making...
21st December marked an important date for Merlin.
The team gathered at The Plaza, Liverpool, first thing, for an exuberant meeting on the 2023 successes and the goals for 2024. The Plaza is set in the very heart of Liverpool with state of the art amenities and cityscape views.
After the team meeting, we reconvened at ‘Flour will Fly’ an authentic establishment based close to the Plaza. For those who can’t tell their ravioli from their garganelli, the classes here offer a deep dive into Italian heritage and welcome a return to the childlike glee of getting messy in the kitchen. With drinks on arrival, the Merlin team were soon up to their elbows in flour and the pasta dough slowly began to take shape. A quick 30 minute dough-rise left a perfect gap to indulge in a delicious Italian charcuterie board. With the pasta dough looking professional enough to make our Italian coaches proud, the wheels of the pasta machines began turning and tagiatelle was soon produced in large quantities. Pasta was cooked until ‘al-dente’ and served with a rich tomato sauce and our pasta making experience was finished.
