Ironmongery Design Trends

Long forgotten is the monopoly of the familiar shades of brushed stainless steel and shiny chrome, as 2018’s trends for different coloured ironmongery show no signs of slowing down this year.

Varying finishes of handles and designs are invading the new market, notably the copper and bronze you are already coming to love, and black is, well the new black!

‘You can never go wrong with black, so they say. And as the interior design trends in 2019 are being revealed, our interior designers have come to the conclusion that black is now taking over the world of interior design. From black furniture, black prints, black walls, finishes, and fixtures, black is pretty much all over the place.’

Other design experts have their views on the year’s trends:

“Colours I see in for 2019 are blush, dusty pink and bronze. Warm colours and feminine tones to break up expanses of taupe or neutrals will instantly update a tired room.”— Katharine Pooley London

‘Bronze and copper accessories were one of the most popular design trends from 2018, loved for the warming and sophisticated effect they bring, whatever the space. Compared to clinical chrome, its rosy hues stand out against an array of colours, and is easily incorporated into a variety of interior schemes, from Scandinavian luxe to LA cool’

‘What’s old is new again. The glamour of Art Deco-inspired décor and design is spreading through both residential and commercial projects. The trend is also playing out in the way of metallic finishes, such as brushed and shiny gold vintage inspired light fixtures.’
